A little bit about me ...

My official name is Susan M. Collins. Most people know me as "suzieq"! I was born in Lorain, OH, raised in Elyria, OH and now reside in Lorain, OH with my husband, Brian and our 5 greyhounds: Maggie-Mae, Alan, Isabelle(Bobo,) Lena LOOOO LOOOOO and our newest addition, Petey! We pre-adopted Petey from B&J Racing kennels in Jacksonville, FL. Petey's racing career ended early because of injury, but we are so happy to have him home. He's a wonderful addition to our pack. He's quite comical and adds daily laughter to our lives, as do the others. We love them all equally and can't imagine our lives without them.

All of my life I knew I wanted to be an Artist. I won several coloring contests as yougster and in my teen years I won several juried art shows. I Graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Graphic Design/Illustration. Right out of college I got a job for a local sign company, but I was bascially doing anything that was needed, paint, install, neon...I think I did everything but weld. I worked there for a couple of years then got a job at one of the largest sign companies in Northern Ohio as a Sign Designer. I worked there for 11 years before deciding that I was in a dead end job and my creative abilities were limited. I also didn't feel like my job meant anything. So, I started my own company and quit my full time job and here I am today! I would have never thought that greyhounds would make up about 95% of my business! I love doing what I do, I love being home with my hounds because they, after all, are my inspiration! I love knowing that what I am doing is making a difference for the hounds...whether it be because I help Greyhound adoption groups by giving a discount and allowing them to sell my products for fundraisers or because someone sees my decal/magnet on a vehicle and asks about greyhound adoption or because I donate money from the portions of my sales to help find these loving dogs forever homes!

Miss Nellie

12/10/1997 - 4/8/2006

It is with heavy hearts that Brian and I had to help Miss Nellie to the bridge. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on November 7, 2005 and had her rear right leg amputated on November 8, 2005. She went through 5 chemo treatments and was doing well. Then one month after completing the chemo, about 4 months after her initial diagnosis, they discovered tumors in her lungs. The tumors then caused her to develop a secondary condition called Hypertrophic Osteopathy which caused severe swelling of the bones in her legs and feet. This nasty disease has no known cure (short of removing the tumors) and quickly crippled her. She was unable to stand or walk within a week. She fought so hard and was such a brave girlie! She will be sadly missed forever but will always be in our hearts! She was an amazing hound! She was our first Greyhound we ever adopted and we will continue to adopt these wonderful hounds! They all deserve loving forever-homes with soft couches! Although it was so hard, we know it's not 'good-bye', but 'until we will see you again!' Run free sweet angel Miss Nellie!

Nellie was a member of TDI (Therapy Dogs International) and did her
volunteer work at a local nursing facility.

One year Nellie went as a Greyhound Bus for Halloween.

Alan LOVES his Doggles! He has Pannus (an eye condition) and they help to protect his eyes from the sun!

Miss Nellie loved to cuddle with her stuffies!.

Our trip to Lake Michigan 2005! Their first time at the beach!

Miss Nellie enjoyed Mom's garden. Oh the beauty of it...and the flowers are pretty too!
